Housing Assistance
Waypoint offers help in locating housing for those who are homeless or victims of domestic violence who must relocate for safety needs. This service offers case management and advocacy as well as referrals to resources that provide financial assistance.
Housing case management and advocacy helps families:
- identify their needs and barriers to obtaining and maintaining housing; including safety planning
- locate housing options;
- and get connected to other community resources that can help.
If you are in need of housing case management or advocacy due to domestic violence or economic reasons, contact Waypoint at 319-365-1458.
Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP)
Waypoint is currently administering a federal grant that the City of Cedar Rapids received from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Grant. Applicants must be Cedar Rapids residents who are homeless, being evicted, and who meet other guidelines. Through the grant, Waypoint provides case management assessment for the program and possible financial assistance to persons who are homeless or would be homeless but for this assistance; and who can remain stably housed after the temporary assistance ends. To inquire about your eligibility for HPRP housing assistance, call the Waypoint Daytime Resource Program, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at 319-365-1458 ext. 220.
