What is the 1911 Society?
Waypoint Services (formally YWCA) was established in 1894 and built their headquarters in 1911 at 318 5th Street SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. For over 100 years Waypoint Services has been dedicated to making lives better for those in need. The 1911 Society consists of a group of individuals from our community dedicated to Waypoint’s mission to strengthen and empower individuals who are homeless, living in poverty, or victims of domestic violence. Members of
the 1911 Society share a passion for helping individuals overcome obstacles and barriers in their life due to homelessness, poverty or domestic violence to become self-sufficient and productive citizens.
