Summer Camp
During the summer months, Waypoint provides care for school age children Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. A wide variety of activities are planned including sports, arts and crafts, swimming, field trips and nature walks. Locations vary from year to year, but we usually operate in at least four different locations, in the hope of accommodating everyone's needs.

POLICIES and PROCEDURES
Teacher Training/Progress Reporting Day Procedures
Field trips are often arranged for these days and early dismissals. In order to arrange both staffing and transportation, we ask that all parents sign-up in advance for care.
Weather Policy
When schools are close or release early due to weather, Waypoint will have at least two sites available for care. Parents must pre-register for this care and must purchase a pre-paid Emergency Care Punch Card. When a school closes early, parents are responsible for transporting their child from the school to the designated Emergency Care site. At the end of the school year, any punches that have not been used on the Emergency Care Punch Card can be turned in as a credit toward your account.
In the event that heat and humidity index exceeds recommended levels, all school age sites without air-conditioning will be closed.
Nutrition Policy
A daily afternoon snack is provided to each child in the SACC Program. The snacks will consist of products from two basic food groups. Waypoint participates in the Child and Adult Care Program (CACFP) administered by the United States Department of Agriculture. Standards set by the government are followed for all meals given to children participating in Waypoint Child Care Programs.
Drop-off/Pick-up Procedure
When dropping off your children, you MUST sign them in. This is also a good time to tell the teachers about an extracurricular event, or the temperament that your child may be in that particular day. You MUST also sign your child out when you come to pick him/her up. When you pick up your child you can gain essential information about your child's day.
Absence Policy
It is imperative that you notify the child care program staff if your child will not be attending that day. Please call your child's site at least one hour prior to the time your child was scheduled to arrive.
Health and Safety Policy
One of the primary goals of Waypoint's Child Care Programs is to provide a safe and healthy environment for all children enrolled. In order to do this, we ask all families to keep their children home if they are ill. If a child becomes ill while under our care, we ask that you be prompt in picking him or her up. Please see your site director for the detailed list of illness guidelines.
Identification Procedure
Any time a staff person is not familiar with a person authorized to pick up a child from a child care program, the staff will ask for photo identification prior to releasing that child. Safety is our primary concern.
Transportation Policy
Routine transportation to and from child care is not offered by any Waypoint programs. In the event of an emergency, 911 will be called and an ambulance will transport the injured child to the emergency room if deemed necessary by medical personnel. Transportation is provided by Waypoint for field trips away from the program with the parent's authorization.
Parental Access Policy
Waypoint has an open door policy for all parents who have children enrolled in a child care program. This means parents have unlimited access to their children and to the provider caring for their children at any time. We encourage parents to drop in or visit any time the program is in operation.
