All in-kind donations to Waypoint are accepted and distributed by Wise Buys Resale Shop at the corner of 4th Avenue and 6th Street Southeast, Cedar Rapids. All Waypoint clients and departments receive your tax-deductible donations at no cost.
Wise Buys operating hours are:
Tues. - Wed. 10am - 5pm
Thurs. 10am - 6pm
Fri. 10am - 2pm
ACCEPTABLE GOODS
Clothing
We accept men, women and children's clothing and accessories including shoes, scarves,
jewelry, and purses. The items must be clean and in bags or boxes. We do not accept clothing that is not contained in some manner.
Toys
All toy donations must be clean and in working condition. Please make sure there are no missing parts or pieces. We do not accept used stuffed toys.
Household Items
We will accept dishes, home decorations, blankets, linens, cookware, silverware, books, videos, and small working appliances.
Furniture
Waypoint does not accept donations of large furniture or large appliances. However,
if you have these items, call Waypoint at 319-365-1458 ext.100 to inquire if families
departing a Waypoint shelter would like the items.
Personal Care Products/Cleaning Supplies
The Madge Phillips Center for the homeless and the Domestic Violence Shelter are in constant need of disposable diapers, soap, shampoo, cleaning and laundry supplies, paper products, alarm clocks, radios and new bed pillows and bedding.
