Celebrating outstanding women in our community.
For the last twenty-six years Waypoint, formerly the YWCA, has honored the accomplishments of over 1,000 women in our community. The Waypoint Tribute to Women of Achievement event provides employers and community members the opportunity to recognize outstanding women in their organizations. Each year, over 400 people attend this elegant evening of fine food, guest speaker and awards ceremony.
You can participate by assisting in three ways:
- NOMINATE WOMEN WHO DESERVE RECOGNITION
We invite you to nominate women in your organization, church, family and community who you feel deserve recognition for their tremendous impact and outstanding achievements. Your nomination guarantees recognition of your nominee at the event. In addition, the Tribute Judging Committee will select one outstanding honoree in each of the six nomination categories. Nominations are due July 25, 2008 and should be submitted online.
The categories and judging criteria are included on the nomination form for your convenience. Please feel free to nominate as many women as you feel deserve recognition for their outstanding work. The nomination fee is $50 per nominee. If you submit the form electronically, and we do not receive the nomination fee by the July 25 deadline, an invoice will be sent to you.
- SUPPORT THE EVENT AND PROGRAMS AT WAYPOINT
We would like to encourage you to support the Tribute to Women event. The proceeds from this event will benefit homeless, domestic violence and sexual assault programs at Waypoint.
INDIVIDUAL OPPORTUNITIES
We have three levels of sponsorship in which you may show your support:

At these levels, your name will be listed in the Tribute to Women of Achievement event program as well as the dinner invitation which is distributed to over 5,000 businesses in our community. Last year, 350 members of our community attended to celebrate the accomplishments of 39 extraordinary women.
CORPORATE AND ORGANIZATION OPPORTUNITIES

- ATTEND THE EVENT
Please join us for this elegant dinner and awards ceremony at The Cedar Rapids Marriott on Thursday, October 9, 2008. Waypoint Tribute to Women dinner invitations will be mailed in August 2008. If you do not receive an invitation, please contact us at 319/365-1458 ext.118. Reservations must be submitted no later than Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Cost is $75 per person, $600 per table of eight or $700 per table of ten.
