Each year, 1 in 3 women in the U.S. are victims of domestic violence, according to the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Given these statistics, Waypoint has made it a priority to not only treat the urgent needs of victims, but work to stop the cycle of violence through advocacy, counseling, and other critical resources.
Waypoint has helped thousands of individuals escape dangerous situations and progress toward a life devoid of domestic violence through its victim services. Last fiscal year, Waypoint served 2,699 new victims/survivors of domestic violence with advocacy, and answer the 24/7 domestic violence resource and support line 8,640 times.
Waypoint provides Domestic Violence Victim Services to the following counties: Benton, Black Hawk, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Jones, and Linn. Waypoint’s local and toll-free emergency phone lines are available 24/7 to provide information or immediate crisis counseling to victims/survivors of domestic violence or their family or friends.
